What are Laced Hair Extensions?
Laced Hair Extensions are a brand of hair extensions, as seen in Glamour, Allure and Cospolitain magazine. They were created by hair stylist Lacy Gadegaard-West as a result of her own hair journey. In 2015, Lacy was diagnosed with a brain tumor that evolved into a Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis. Throughout treatment, she lost over 70% of her natural hair. During her time in the hospital, Lacy met countless other women who were also experiencing hair loss due to their medical situations and were disheartened that they couldn’t afford hair extensions. Lacy knew the power of a good hair day, and the sense of hope it gave, so she set out to make quality hair extensions more accessible to women just like her.

How much do good hair extensions cost?
«The cost of your extensions will depend on the method we use, how much hair we need to create your style, and the stylist who installs them. We highly recommend that you come in for a free consultation in order to get an exact quote for how much your hair extensions will cost.
Which hair extension method is best for fine or fragile hair?
«Fine or thinning hair needs a method that distributes weight evenly and minimizes tension. We often recommend hand-tied wefts because they sit flat against the scalp and use minimal points of attachment.
For delicate hair, we may suggest keratin bonds or tape-ins applied in customized zones to prevent breakage.
What’s the best extension method if I wear my hair up a lot?
«If you frequently wear your hair in high ponytails, buns, or braids, keratin fusion or Genius wefts are ideal. They offer a discreet attachment with flexible placement, so your extensions move naturally and remain hidden even when styled up.
What are hybrid hair extensions?
«Hybrid extensions is when we blend multiple methods to create the most natural result possible, especially when you need both length and volume or when your hair has texture. We typically use wefts through the back and mid-lengths to build fullness, then place keratin bonds, micro-links, or tape-ins near the top and sides for perfect blending. For around the face, we'll use delicate wefts. For curly or textured hair, we match your exact curl pattern and density using textured wefts or keratin tips so the finished look moves naturally and blends seamlessly from roots to ends.
What’s the best low-maintenance option for extensions?
«If you want gorgeous, long-lasting extensions without a lot of upkeep, fusion extensions or Genius wefts are typically the best fit. They stay looking great for three to five months with proper care, so you’re not in the salon every few weeks. If you prefer something even quicker, tape-ins are a fast refresh — most appointments take about an hour, making them perfect for tight schedules.
Can extensions be used safely during postpartum hair shedding?
«Yes, but timing and method matter. We wait until shedding stabilizes and then use lightweight tape-ins or hand-tied wefts to restore volume while protecting regrowth. It’s a gentle way to feel confident again without compromising new hair growth.
What’s the best extension method if I work out and swim regularly?
«Active lifestyles require secure bonds that resist moisture and movement. Keratin fusion or Genius wefts hold up best to sweat, workouts, and frequent washing. We’ll review your habits to find the safest option for durability and scalp comfort.
How do I know when it’s time to move up or remove my extensions?
«The maintenance schedule depends on your hair and the method we use. Don't worry, we will cover at home care and maintenance during your consultation and again on your installation day. Generally speaking, you'll need to come in to the salon for maintenance every 6–10 weeks for wefts or tapes, and every 3–5 months for fusion. If your extensions start to tangle at the root, feel heavy, or you notice increased shedding, it’s time for maintenance. Waiting too long can strain your natural hair, so we track your schedule to keep your extensions healthy.
